ACTING CLASS

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:

Acting is an introductory course designed to encourage individuals of ALL talent levels to "step out of their comfort zones" in order to develop individual and group performance skills through the art of theatre.

 

UNITS:

Acting class is broken into three units:  STAGE, STORY, aaand SCENE!   Click on each unit below for more information.

 

SYLLABUS

 

SCHEDULE (day-to-day):

No homework is given in Acting class because much of what you learn is in community with others.  If you are ABSENT, be sure to click on "SCHEDULE" (above)  in order to stay up with the activities/assignments covered during class in your absence.  You can also use this link if you (or your parents) need clarification on what happened (or was communicated) in class.

 

 

UNIT 1: STAGE

This unit is focused on collaboration, creativity, and composition on stage.  Stage Directions & terms are also covered.

UNIT 2:  STORY

This unit is focused on crafting compelling narratives on stage...both with & without scripts.

UNIT 3: SCENE

This unit is focused on creataing believable characters & interactions on stage.  The unit   culminates in a final scene performance with a partner.  (Schedule)
